Amelia N. Aldred
Amelia Newcomer Aldred is a writer and advocacy communications specialist based in Chicago, Illinois. Amelia’s short stories, essays, and articles have been featured by Metaphorosis Magazine, Flash Fiction Online, South Side Weekly, Chicago Literati, Neutrons/Protons, Offbeat Home, the anthology Undeniably Indiana (Indiana University Press), and Otherworld Theatre. She works as an advocate for libraries and the freedom to read at the American Library Association and has a decade of experience in communications and research for nonprofits and advocacy organizations. She is an associate board member of the Stories Matter Foundation and her communications strategy, media relations and content creation work for community organizations won the PCC 2023 Golden Trumpet Award, the 2023 Silver Trumpet Award, and the 2021 Silver Trumpet Award. When she’s not telling stories, Amelia spends her time throwing nerdy parties, practicing aerial arts, and collecting skeleton keys.
