We’re excited to offer an exclusive cover reveal of Gabriel Bump’s third novel, Don’t Stop Snowing (Algonquin Books, November 10, 2026)!
Don’t Stop Snowing follows David, a young man on the brink of despair after finishing grad school, who moves to snowy Buffalo to stay with his cousin Flip in an attempt to get his life on track. But while he hopes that Flip will help him find clarify, David instead realizes that his cousin’s state of mind is even unsteadier than his own, forcing him to become a caretaker. As he settles into his new life, David discovers a new way of seeing the world and himself.
Gabriel Bump was born and raised in Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood. His first novel, Everywhere You Don’t Belong, was a 2020 CHIRBy Award finalist and New York Times Notable Book. His second novel, The New Naturals, was a Washington Post, Boston Globe, and New York Times Notable Book of 2023. Bump’s deeply humanistic writing explores the complexity and resiliency of love and the possibility for true, lasting connection in a world that threatens to break us apart. Don’t Stop Snowing may be his most personal and emotionally resonant book yet.
The cover was designed by Little, Brown Art Director June Park. Here’s how Park described her process:
“On this cover, I wanted to capture that feeling of being in deep snow, where everything slows, the world quiets, and the air around you glistens with falling flakes. The refracted light hints at the story’s hallucinatory edge, while tracing a deeper transformation where surrender to the landscape becomes its own kind of clarity.”
Gabriel Bump also spoke about the cover’s significance to his new novel:
“This novel is quieter, more introspective, than my previous books. Like a long winter walk through six inches of fresh snow. I wanted the cover to reflect that introspection, that quietude. It’s about a man reflecting on his life, trying to better understand how he ended up okay, after several false starts. It feels like a throwback, similar to an old John Irving novel, with some trippy qualities. And, yes, there had to be snow. I can imagine this cover on a paperback in a used bookstore, well-loved, falling apart, still beautiful. Algonquin has gifted me three gorgeous covers. This one might be my personal favorite. It’s hard to pick a favorite novel, but Don’t Stop Snowing is certainly my best.”
Don’t Stop Snowing will be released on November 10, 2026, and preorders are open now!
